Hi, I'm interested in any information about Irlam and Cadishead's involvement in WW2 as I'm co-writing a book about the area. So far we have interviewed many local veterans and their experiences range from Dunkirk, North Africa, Italy, D-Day, Japanese POW, Lancaster navigator and many more theatres of war. We've collected 100's of photos, gone through 7 years of newspapers and written 700 pages. In May 2010 we published a book called "A District at War" which described the area's involvement in WW1 (623 pages, over 400 photos of local men and some really good reviews ). All the proceeds from both books go to a local charity. I'm also a moderator on themanchesters forum. Any way, that's me. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute to other people's posts. Best regards Pete
