The book contains 103 hi-quality photographs of 52 remaining control towers at RAF airfields in the UK (and one Luftwaffe tower in the Netherlands), left over after WW2.
Many towers still stand alone derelict in the fields, in use as a pig sty, club house, museum, office, or converted into a house.
The objective is to show them in the state as they are today in the surrounding landscape. The photographic survey is also supported by the stories of the situation in which they are found. Together with geographical co-ordinates, OS-reference and Google Earth images they are easy to find or visited.

All info and how to purchase this wonderful book at:

Theo,Sorry no one has said hello to you so far, but welcome to the site.I think your post would be better i the RAF section, it looks fascinating. Not my area of interest but I am glad someone has taken the trouble to find all these towers and recorded them

    Theo,

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Perhaps people may have been put off by a first post advertising.

Perhaps wise when entering a new forum to introduce yourself and explain that you have researched and written a book based on your research.

    Just a thought.

Good luck with the book sales.

    Regards
    Tom

Theo appears to be one of the 'they arrive, ask a question or, in this case place an advert, and go away' people. He was only active for a few days around the time he placed his advert. A great shame because the subject of the book is fascinating to those who have visited such places. In my case, as a Lincolnshire lad, me and my friends would go on long bike rides just to be able to explore them.

Hopefully Theo will visit again, in which case I will consider buying the book.

Incidentally, the link in Theo's post redirects me back to this thread. Curious!
