    As a Ukrainian myself, I am always enthusiastic about sharing WW2-related information about the history of the country during both Communist and Nazi occupation. In this detailed 15 000-word article I researched the issue of German colonialism in Ukraine since the XVIII century, through the First World War, Hitler’s plans of seizing Ukraine in 1941, the functioning of the notorious ‘Reichskommissariat Ukraine’, and the role of Alfred Rosenberg and Erich Koch. The occupation of Kyiv, the Soviet policy of scorched earth, and the life between two dictatorial regimes are discussed in detail with 140+ archival and my relevant photos of the locations.
