I have read the books by Munch-Petersen and by McKay, but they don't give precise information about the propaganda, maybe because there aren't any documents about this. The mere fact that propaganda was distributed seems to be known as a consequence of Strike Oxe failing and the Swedish Police shedding a spotlight on all of Rickman's activities. Anti-nazi propaganda at this scale was not really of interest for Swedish authorities as long as it was not directed against Sweden. But PsyWar suggests in his point 8, that Biggs and Nerman were in some way acquainted. Does anyone know more about this? Unfortunately all the involved actors are dead, I think the printing has been executed by Biggs (former lay-outer and ads consultant) and Behrisch (ex printer's devil) at Ture Nerman's newspaper press (trade union's press). I would be glad, if anyone here could give me some clue to prove this. Has anyone ever seen in some archive proof sheets of this propaganda? The only thing I know about this is based on a letter written in chemical ink by Immanuel Birnbaum (agent "Kant") telling a secret contact in Germany that the propaganda was of "wretched quality" (source: McKay).

After recalling stories from my late grandad and my mum, I have been recently doing some investigation and came across this thread. Its a few years ago now but I hope some are still here and active on the site?

My Grandad was in fact Ernest John Biggs! My mum was born in Stockholm 1932 and although grandad never talked much about his clandestine operations, I'd be happy to discuss with anyone interested.

 

Hi, I can't see the photo you say is of Ernest Biggs. Do you have it still? He was my Grandad!

 

How would I go about locating my grandad's (Ernest Biggs) SOE Personal file?
