Believe this shows the location, perhaps you can work out based on where you took the photos, seem to be boundary stones? Note that some state 'stone' others 'stones'. Map c 1960s. Following post #2, this is a different location but there a reference to 'Air Ministry' AM posts halfway down this page: Military Boundary Stones – HistoricGosport No War Dept arrow but these have AM on them: https://www.hillingdon.gov.uk/media...ary_Markers__RAF_Uxbridge.pdf?m=1612959469770
Ah but then Wikipedia claims 2 cinder airstrips + hangar c/o Uncle Sam. It humorously recalls "an Auster which he had rolled onto its back while landing." - suggesting the strip ran across the fall line and hadn't even been levelled by its cowboy builders ! NLS' side by side view of that offers many comparisons for us cartophiles and historians shouldn't need me to remind them of HE's official listing.- the paragraph immediately preceding the "DESCRIPTION" heading seeming most relevant here for suggesting to me conventional crowfoot was omited because the site's vendor simply 'pegged' it out before the AM got around to fencing it in to suit their own needs as its proud new owner. Someone else maybe worth asking is the BP nature reserve warden given that it also borders the BPOS - just follow my link for his contact details. Steve
