    Smiling face of Sgt Cornell (top right in the main pic on this thread) B coy, 7 para. He was killed at Neustadt on 7th April 45.

    The IWM has filled in some gaps by adding new info to some WW2 photo sections recently. The complete run of photos of Field Marshal Montgomery inspecting the 6th Airborne at the Royal Chateau de Ciergnon is B 13696 - B 13703. Portraits of Montgomery at the Chateau can be seen in the B 13654 - B 13659 series.

    This is the closest I could get to the chateau. The king of Belgium owns it and it’s totally closed off.
