    I knew I'd seen another link of interest but it had fallen off the bottom of my history list. Worth a read, particularly the comments of the guy who was in the ANC. I'm sure that threats were sometimes issued in african villages but in general black people volunteered. Think of how hard the selection process is to join the Gurkhas today.
