Hi all -- I have several service files I'd like to request from MoD - I have done so once through a researcher, but I think it was a one-time opportunity and is now back in my hands. I live in the United States and cannot get a check in pounds to send. I also understand that there are a number of files transferring to TNA. Of those that I have, birth dates are: 1912 1917 1918 1924 1928 Based on the timescale in the other thread, I may be out of luck on the 1912 DoB and should request 1917/1918 this year to get by. 1924 and 1928 should be available there for some time. What do you think? The second part of the question -- can anyone help me in terms of getting a request with a check to MoD? I am happy to send funds via paypal at your convenience, whether it is up front or when the bounced check indicates it's really time to pay. I feel comfortable asking as this has been a very trustworthy and generous community. Thanks for the help, Robert
Depends on service RAF online application and delivery, pay by credit/debit card Army, Home Guard and Navy - postal payment by International Money Order However the first tranche of transferred records are now open for access. First MOD service personnel records now available - The National Archives https://cdn.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documents/mod-service-records-collection-faqs.pdf Ross
Hi Ross -- thanks, these are for Army. Money order sounds successful, I thought only check was acceptable! Thanks, Robert
