Sounds very strange what you described to us, but I guess you may have hit one of the old fortifications along what is called The Schwarzwald Line. This already existed in 1794/95 and during WW2 was extended to include bunkers and antiaircraft set ups (FLAK). Excuse my rather simple non-military translation. Apparently there are quite a few in the Black Forest, but they are not used anymore, so it was not too dificult to hit the one you walked in to. I have seen a photo somewhere which looked very much like what you were describing, but I cannot remember where I saw it. Stefan.
Not what is mentioned, but interesting non the less. Subterranea of Germany: Kulturbunker Barbarastollen Regards Tom
i live in wolfach but lived in oberwolfach for some years i have spent many hours in the local forests as mushroom picking is a very tasty way to spend a day . I have noticed some i think what are gun emplacements. After talking to locals it seams that in haslach about 15 kilometers from oberwolfach was a munitions depot in the forest useing the old mines in the area . My old bosses son recons that the area was bombed during the war and only about 4 months ago a bomb was found in wolfach while a garage was being excavated.
