I recently found a wartime copy of "Action Stations" The Royal Navy at War, 1942
It was a nice surprise to find the frontpiece is signed by submariner, Commander Ben Bryant and dated 3rd January 1942.
There is a signature above Bryant's that I can't read, does anyone recognise it?

Robert Ledsbury ? Don't think it's another submariner, and the only clear letter is the "t" at the end of the christian name. Nor Rupert, could be Albert. Could be double-barrelled. It will be obvious when you've cracked it !

They all signed things like that with " Lt. Col" or some rank typed underneath, D.J.A.G or D.D.D. something but no typed transcription of the scrawl. They liked their "D" s.
