At dawn on 20 November 1943, U.S. Marines launched an assault on Tarawa, a Japanese-held atoll in the British Protectorate of the Gilbert and Ellice Islands. The water in the lagoon was only 3 feet deep that morning, less than the 4–5 feet required by a fully loaded personnel carrier to navigate the waters. As a result, marines saddled with equipment were forced to wade almost a mile across the lagoon under heavy Japanese fire. Well Gents this is what I want to do. Here's what I have so far. the water is a pain in the neck to simulate I still have to work on the Higgen's boat and put Marines into the water Any suggestions would be gladly accepted Thanks Tom
I cant offer ant suggestions, Tom but what you have done so far looks fantastic. Top marks on the water! Keith
Keith Thanks for looking at my diorama. The water was apain in the neck to make. the next step is to make major conversations to figures to show Marines wading ashore in waist deep water. Thanks again Tom
Gents I know it's been a while. But you know with the holidays I didn't have much bench time. I also had to wait for the Navy Personnel i ordered. so here's an update

Great model of an interesting subject. Could I suggest that it will come alive when the lighting for photography is improved, it looks very flat under a on-camera flash gun, and I know that the camera may not have the functions but turning off flash, and using available light from the side or back will give much better contrast, if the scene is of a night time assault then a subdued moon effect will give the model the atmosphere that it deserves, looking forward to seeing the end result, thanks for posting.
