Abbreviations For Punishment in the Field

    Date of Offence 12th March 1945. Awarded 7 days FP BYOC for WOPS failing to maintain WO vehicle in roadworthy condition. Does anyone know wha the punishment was?

    looks like 7 days field punishment - which was not good as the culprit was run ragged for 7 days

    Oh, poor Dad. He was such a gentle soul and law abiding type. He would have been mortified. Now me on the other hand..........!

    Might that be FP by OC ?

    As far as my father was concerned FP was "water off a duck's back" compared to the training he'd endured, but here's one man's account (from the same battalion) which might be of interest to you.
