My dad was in the home guard in a 3.7 Heavy Ack Ack unit at Marchwood near Fawley Hampshire in 1944, does anyone have any photos or info on the gun site, he was given this card when he left to go in the army RASC [ not a good scan ] dated 31.12.44. Keith
No specific details but here are 2 links that may get you started on some future research. The first is a summary of a document a Kew that seems to have details of a nearby AA site and details of the Battery / regiment manning that. It may be that the same Regiment were at S8 (Marchwood) nearby or that the file has references to other units that could be searched for at Kew and the Marchwood Battery details found that way. http://www.newforestww2.org/air-raid-damage-to-bunkers-hill-anti-aircraft-site-official-report/ The second is a map of AA sites that reveal details when you hover over the small symbols. http://www.anti-aircraft.co.uk/HAA_gun_sites_map.html Good luck
found this link quite a lot of info of the area. Thanks for your help hutt. Keith http://www.newforestww2.org/uploads/publications/51.pdf
