A Woman In Berlin

Discussion in 'Books, Films, TV, Radio' started by Jonathan Saunders, Aug 23, 2005.

  1. I am reading the harrowing diary A WOMAN IN BERLIN that recalls one woman's experiences during the period April to June 1945.

I have trawled around the internet but cant yet decide whether this is an authentic diary - can anyone else shed any light on this? (Irrespective of its authenticity I dont doubt it is a "diary" of sorts whether written in 1945 or in subsequent years).

The author is anonymous but believed to be Marta Hiller. As she was identified as the probable author after her death I thought there might have been some account of her life after June 1945 available. Does anyone know what happened to Marta in the years that followed and what path her life took?

Many thanks in advance for any answers - also recommend this book to all, especially those interested in womens history.

  3. Thanks Eddie but I guess my question is IS THAT IT?

I note the piece was written about 7 weeks ago, around the time the book was relaunched, but has any new information on Marta Hiller been placed in the public domain since?
