    That might prompt a rethink... I can't see the crock being dragged from there across the road to the right (if I've got my bearings) - there must have been a second live Tiger (114 most likely)

    Quite a few years ago I was corresponding with a veteran from 55 Anti-tank and he showed me a photograph similar to Tank 338 with the barrel blocking the road. He said he used explosive to cut it off so that traffic could pass by it.

    Apologies, I’m not trying to hijack this thread, just trying to understand if someone could possibly confirm which Ausf version of Panther is captured in the attached photo at all please? The image is captured near the destroyed train station in Noyers-Bocage.

    Also, the 1946 aerial photos captured earlier in the thread, are they available online at all please?

  4. Looks like an Ausf.A (square joint interlocking of turret side and front plates).
