Hello all, Have been searching for results but have turned nothing up as yet... Have a Canadian radar operator (Leslie Otto Shvemar) with 59 Sqdn that was either injured whilst with 59 or with ASWDU at Thorney Island in 1945. Has anyone got records of accidents for ASWDU, Jan-Sept 1945? His personal records show him being at 206, 59 then ASWDU, as well as 206, 59 then ASWDU. His description of accident, is a crash on landing with several fatalities. The only possible accident with 59 Sqdn is that of Lib KK339, crashed on landing but no casualties recorded on 09.05.1945. However, as radar op's were considered ground crew, were they recorded in the Form 541's when they flew ops'? Any help appreciated, Thanks.
