One can only imagine the despair a parent went through when word arrived that their child was missing.

I thought I'd post this letter addressed to Mrs Booker who is obviously trying to find answers to what happened to her son or indeed if he is still alive. The letter is from one of her son's friends, Commanding Officer. Almost a year after he was reported missing she is obviously still searching for answers and a reply had taken over three months.

HI - Ronnie Booker was my uncle. He died on the Crested Eagle. I'd love to read the letter my grandmother received but I can't open the link. Any tips?

    Hi Drew,

There are numerous similar letters from bereaved parents on the 1500+ Canadian deceased personnel service files available online via LAC Ottawa.
