    zzzzzzzzz - Biglin, Charles Cecil - face.jpg

Recently I have found a lot of photos of local men (Grimsby and Cleethorpes) in the local newspapers who served during WW2. Many of them have a little write-up about them including whether they lost their life.

One name has emerged, Lance Corporal Charles Cecil Biglin (photo above) which the report said his family had been informed that he had died while serving. I have seen another reliable source which states he was a prisoner, but then nothing more was heard from him.

Would anybody be able to check POW lists, or any other lists, for his name. I'm not sure where he is allegedly supposed to have died, as they never printed his theatre of operations. All I know is that it was in 1944.

He is not listed on the CWGC website as I have checked all variants of his name including initials etc

Any help would be appreciated, so I can either add him to my list of the fallen, or stick him in the survived folder.

He would have been taken POW at Arnhem. He is not shown as missing whilst working as an Air Despatcher so was probably one of this unit that went into Arnhem by Glider to deal with supplies on the ground.

Thank you to everyone for your input. I had seen that a CC Biglin was on passenger lists to Canada, but there were no dates so wasnt sure whether it was him or not.
