It's me again with a further report on the Telegraph project.

Having tentatively rubbished the site I have since posted another seven stories telling myself I am just trying to see if the mechanics of the site has improved since I last wrote.

I still don't like the following:
    * There are no identifying number to any of the articles so the only way of finding a story is to either scroll down for what is the present tally of 153 stories or use the CTRL+F search box to find a text string.
    * No opportunity to add an image.
    * No helpful advice such as beware of imbedded characters inported from .doc files.
    * No guidance on the length of articles or a need to put a heading to ones story.
    * No guidance to the fact that there is a delay before an article is printed. This will encourage double entries from users who do not realise there IS a delay in use.

Just to bring this thread uptodate.

I received a reply from the Telegraph yesterday to the e-mail I sent way back in October 2008.

I would like to give you their response, but after reading the paragraph at the bottom of the letter, namely
This message, its contents and any attachments to it are private, confidential and may be the subject of legal privilege. Any unauthorised disclosure, use or dissemination of the whole or part of this message (without our prior written consent) is prohibited.
I decided not to risk any legal consequences :(

Have any other members of this forum received similar "gagging" letters from the Press ?

Ron, I am not entirely sure that is legally binding because email is a non-encrypted - and thus not safe - method of communication. Plus you have not entered into any agreement to these terms in your communication with them.

And there was I thinking the fourth estate functioned on leaks.
Anyone would think they'd got a bit paranoid about them recently  :D.

Thanks for that but are you saying that if I publish their reply, verbatim, but at the end of the letter say "My mate Paul Reed takes full responsibility for disclosing your letter" then this will relieve me of any possible legal action ?

I await your reply with bated breath :) :) :)

 Well, I wasn't saying that... if you feel uncomfortable about or bound by the statement at the end of their email I wouldn't post. Only a legal expert could say for sure whether that statement was binding.
