Has anyone done any work on the 9th Battalion Royal Fusiliers in WW2? I have C. Northcote Parkinson's 'Always a Fusilier' but am looking for further information on Captain Stanley Charles Warner MC (I have this citation), Major John Gould Coleman, Major Alan Reginald John Skillern and Captain Kenneth C Baker. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Hi I served in the 1st Bn Royal Fusiliers 1957/59 and at the time our Colonel was Colonel Warner would he be the same Warner that you mention? Also the 8th and 9th Bn Royal Fusiliers fought in the second battle for Monte Camino Dec 1943 rotherfield
8 and 9 Royal Fusiliers landed at Salerno on 9 Sep 43. 9 Royal Fusiliers got embroiled in Battipaglia and were forced to withdraw with heavy losses after the Germans counter attacked. Regards FdeP
