Which four batteries comprised this regiment in late 1941?

I know that it converted from a Medium Artillery Regiment (73rd) in N. Africa.

Does anyone also know when it upgraded to 6Pdrs?

    Thanks, David.

Here is what I have on 73rd Medium Regiment and 95th Anti-Tank Regiment:

    73rd Medium Regiment, R.A.
    RHQ, ‘A’, ‘B’
Raised: 2 January 1940 at Taporley, Cheshire from a cadre of 68th Medium Regiment

The regiment was under command of III Corps before it was converted to 95th Anti-Tank Regiment, R.A. on 1 October 1941 with ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, and ‘D’ Batteries. ‘A’ Battery left for India on 26 January 1942. It served under 7th Armoured Brigade Group from 1 March 1942 until 20 November 1942. It was located in Burma until 31 May 1942, in India until 23 September 1942, when it embarked from Bombay for Iraq. It was at sea until 16 October 1942 and then in Iraq. 102nd and 282nd Batteries joined on 19 September 1942. ‘D’ Battery left by 16 December 1942 and ‘B’, ‘C’, 102nd and 282nd Batteries became ‘Q’, ‘R’, ‘S’ and ‘T’ Batteries. ‘Q’ Battery left on 25 December 1942. The remaining batteries were numbered 311th, 102nd and 282nd Batteries. 312th Battery was formed and added on 20 March 1943.
95th Anti-Tank Regiment served under command of 8th Army from November 1941 until December 1942. ‘A’ Battery of the regiment was sent to India with 7th Armoured Brigade at the start of February 1942. The rest of the regiment remained in Egypt until early 1943 and then moved to Syria and Palestine and came under command of 9th Army. It remained with 9th Army until mid-1943 and stayed in the area until 1 April 1944, when reconverted to 73rd Medium Regiment.
The RHQ was redesignated RHQ 73rd Medium Regiment, R.A. on 1 April 1944 with 282nd and 311th Batteries. The other batteries were disbanded. It remained in the Middle East until July 1944, when it moved to Italy. It served under 2nd Army Group RA in Italy from August 1944 until the end of the war.

The WD indicates this was only in October 1942.

David (Ryan), you have "The rest of the regiment remained in Egypt until early 1943 and then moved to Syria and Palestine and came under command of 9th Army.". They were definitely in Libya in November/December 1942, reaching Mersa el Brega on 14 December, and they were in Cyrene on 31 December 1942.

    All the best

David (Ryan) for your notes it maybe of interest that the regiment established the training school for infantry battalion AT gunners in April 42 and seems to have run it to September 42.

    All the best

I've looked through the war diaries and although they initial set up the school in Solum, it moved around a lot as Rommel's Second Offensive pushed them way back to Cairo and The Second Battle of El Alamein and the subsequent land grab back to Mersa El Brega and Cyrene.

1943 war diaries for 95th would be amazing to get hold of if anybody has them.
