I am appealing for information for a crew from 88 squadron who flew out of RAF Hartford Bridge in a Boston Havoc Mkiia RH-C BZ 382 who went down over the River Orne near Ranville, the mission is believed to have been to destroy a bridge and was possibly shot down by anti-aircraft guns.
The crew consisted of 4 men, flight sergeant Edwin Rudge, squadron leader Vickers of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Flight Lieutenant Kimber and flight lieutenant Turner, DFC.
Edwin Rudges granddaughter would like more information on the mission and where they crashed and when the crew were recovered as the CWWG says that they were buried elsewhere first. She would also like to see a photo of the aircraft, BZ 381 RH-B if anyone could help please.

A couple of pages from Squadron Leader Vicker's service records regarding the crash.

This one states that the plane crashed at Ouilly Le Basset but unfortunately not the exact location.

I'm in regular contact with Edwin's granddaughter. I've sent you a 'conversation' message with contact details (as it's not appropriate to post email addresses on a public forum).
