Hi. I'm trying to find out what my grandfather's unit movements were when he was with the BEF and after D-Day. It looks like he was posted to 67 Battery, 20th Anti Tank Regiment. I've attached what info I have on his postings. I know very little about his Army career apart from being evacutated from Dunkirk and landing at Normandy, possibly on the 7th. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas! Steve
That five year gap looks odd to me; was his posting still to the 67th Battery? Using Google with "20th Anti Tank Regiment": ww2talk.com site:ww2talk.com returns thirty-three results and there is one on 67 Battery: Trying to glean information re my Father's Battle Group in Normandy Changing the search text returns one more: 1439124 Gunner George FOWLER, Royal Artillery
Hi, Welcome to the forum. The document you have attached appears to be a portion of an old style MOD “summary of service” document that was the norm for MOD to supply to enquirers until the adoption of new FOI data handling rules about 10+ years ago. MOD now provide copies of original service record documents from the soldiers personnel file that contain much more detailed information. You may wish to reapply to MOD. You will find numerous examples of “original” service record documents in the service record sub forum. Steve
