This is incredible - thanks for this information Ben and also for Cee for adding more info to it as well. Ben is there a book similar to this for Pont l'Evacque as I believe the group I am researching came down in this area and any maps with this sort of info for that area would be hugely helpful. Thank you Lawrence
I came across a POW report by Sgt. Amey in a forgotten folder sent sometime ago by Michael P-C. Lawrence may already have this, not sure? It claims he was captured near Beaumont. Would this be Beaumont-en-Auge about 6 kilometres west of Pont L'Eveque? I just don't know what to make of the ramblings of this particular stick as they seemed to have ended up in widely divergent places. Hi Chuck, Thanks for this. Yes that sounds about right being possibly Beaumont-en-Auge, it was also in this area that I suspect a few landed as well. The Stick was split into about 3 different groups and all (bar Pt Roberts and Cpl Sheldon) were eventually captured as they headed westwards trying to find their unit. One of the groups when captured was initially and held in Pont L'Eveque. Law
