Quote from Mailed Fist by Ken Ford. 10 RB in 61 Bde, 6 Armd Div. The division advanced towards Forli up Highway 67, starting on 25 August. Each of 26th Armoured Brigade's regiments took it in turn to provide tank support for the move, with 61st Brigade supplying the infantry..... .....The advance moved at a pace limited by the speed of reconstruction work by the Royal Engineers and the progress that the infantry could make sweeping along the high ground on the flanks. It took a month for the division to get it's leading units up through Dicomano and Muraglione Pass- a month of filling and pounding cratered roads, repairing and rebuilding blown bridges , fire-fights with an evasive enemy and depressing bouts of inclement weather.
