My Uncle was with this outfit from 2 months after D Day, advancing across France and Belgium up to Rijkervosel and Wuustwezel by jan 1945, Can you tell me what larger unit they may have been connected to? regards rarmour
I'm no expert but I suspect they would have been a unit in their own right under a Division or a Corps.

674 Art Wks Coy RE was attached to the First Canadian Army prior to D-Day, and it looks as if the company stayed with the Canadians, at least till 15 May 1945. On this date it was under command 1 Cdn CRE Wks. I think that you will find the 1944 and 1945 war diaries at the National Archives under the following references:- WO 171/1678 and WO 171/5606 Dave
