Dear all, expert help required to try and solve my mystery. I am researching a group of WW1 tank corps soldiers whose graffiti I have located in a tunnel in France. One of them is Ambrose Harold Goldup. I have his history and war service for 1915-18. However, I believe he also served with the Buffs from 1940/41 although I have no evidence to prove this is the same man. All I have is an Cpl A H Goldup as POW on the Italy and German lists of WW2. He was living in Folkestone at this time and also had worked on the AFS in Dover in 1939. I think he was called up again with his experience from WW1 as he was still only 41 years of age.(although even more chance in 1942 after the conscription bill was passed.) Would anybody be able to help prove this man's address or service details for me so I can add it to my exhibition details on the lives of these extra--rdinary men. His service number was 6285741 Many thanks for any advice. David

Thank you very much Guy. I am very impressed, though saddened that it wasn't the same man. May they all rest in peace. We will remember them. Appreciate everyone's response on this thread. David.
