trying to track down 5th Light Field Ambulance in December 1941. I know they were in North Africa, but where ?
Would they be 1st Army or 8th Army ? Any clues appreciated

Tony, My Dad was with the RASC and was assigned to 5 LFA as a driver from early 1942, my information is the following.

5 Light Field Ambulance RAMC, 1 Armoured Division, 13 Corps, Eighth Army 2nd Echelon

I have copies of the war diaries from around March 1942 if you want copies please let me have a PM with your address and I will let you have a disk to copy. In March 42 they were around Torbruk.

Well they wouldn't be First Army.
That didn't exist in Dec 41.
