They do attract some rather curious looks! And before anyone asks, yes, there are letters and numbers on them too!

Due to some "nice" intervention by certain persons the roll of honour will be cancelled!

it will not be published by the Friends, but staps are taking by Geert and myself to get published one way or another!!

"Nice" intervention, I dont think so, very sad news, but confident both yourself and Geert will make it happen.

Despite some rumours spreading around in the arnhem/airborne circuit, I am happy to say that all goes well and that the 1st proof edition is ready.

September will be releasing date, hopefully before arnhem week

I've just had an email from Geert about the cancellation and it would appear that these rumours had some foundation after all. When I saw Geert at the end of June he told me of some "difficulties" that were being encountered - it would appear that it has proved impossible for these to be resolved.

I anticipate that, in due course, the reasons for the cancellation of the project will become known and people will then be able to form their own opinions. For my part I am extremely disappointed as I considered it to be so minor that a solution should have been easily achieved.

not impossible to be resolved at all, it appears that some people as well in Holland as in the UK, have some problems with Geert and myself and found it necessary to boycot this work!

It was more important to them to get us out off the way, then a new RoH

As specially Geert worked night and day on this New RoH and spent hours and hours in it, and finally some people don't have to stomach to overrule these people.

I know Geert very well and I can say that he find it extreme hard to believe, that this decision was made, and still can believe it, have by now heard from many others who find it hard to believe but support us

I wont pretend I understand the politics of it all or the various warring camps that seem to flourish in anything that is Arnhem related. All I can say is that its very disappointing to have something so important scuppered at the last minute due to personal differences. But what do I know,Im new to all this and no doubt I am missing something.

Good to hear .. it would be a shame when all that time and energy, which must have gone into this research, is wasted - just while people cannot get along with each other.

BTW - Nice holidays, go far .. and south ... I always travel in the direction of the
    Antartic!

    Extremely bad news Philip!
I wish you and Geert all the best with your efforts to get the work published. It would be a monumental injustice if it never saw the light of day.............

Having got my copy of the ROH 4th revised edition some 9 years ago via a friend who got it for me from the Airborne museum, I was quite keen to get the latest version(was a job for Dave;)) which would have had quite a bit more information than my old copy......... and prior to that I had been aware of this publication years before, and in the days before I joined this forum and Ebay, I jumped at the chance for my friend to get me a copy. So it is to say the least......... a huge disapointment that this has happened, and yet again it seems the 'Arnhem rivalry' that exists has affected another publication, well how about this....... I dare say that someone on this forum knows the other Party in this matter would they be so kind as to ask them to come on the forum and tell us why on this occasion this has happened, and before someone cries its none of our buisiness:rolleyes: just ask them to look throught Paul's Arnhem thread and all those that have sprung from it in Arnhem matters then tell us its not our buisiness!;) yours rather fed up Jason.

Without knowing the details, I can only agree with Paul, all the best to you both to get the job done.

    Hi All,

I find this Hard to believe after all isn't it about Them and not some minor misunderstanding between parties ???? Having have the pleasure of meeting Geert in person wouldn't it be best just to get the New ROH out for all to see ????And why would the Friends take away the surport ?? I don't understand it...

    Cheers
    Tom
