Private Edgar Bolton of the 5th was wounded in an attack that killed a number of his mates some time after D-Day and before July 10th. All his son knows his that his dad said that all his friends were burning because the Germans had attacked them with phosphorus grenades. Do we know when and where this attack happened? Private Bolton was admitted to a hospital in Manchester on July 10th so it must have been some time before then.
