5885222 Private Derek Hilsden, 2 Northamptonshire Regiment Killed 23rd May

Hi, I'm now looking for information on a Derek Hilsden, 5885222, [FONT=&quot] Private 2nd Bn, Northamptonshire Regiment 23rd May, around the town of Maroeuil. Would anyone have the Diary for that day? Any information gratefully received. Our town lost 13 people during WW2, two were lost of the retreat to Dunkirk.

I've started a new thread for you so the two don't get mixed up.

For starters here's his CWGC entry and the link to his cemetery which gives a massive clue- all the dead are from the same regiment which would strongly suggest they all died fighting in the same battle:
