56 works with CE CDN WKS ?

    Hi.. My father was in the 56 mechanical equipment platoon royal engineers 879 me coy and their first jobs in France was to build the Bayeaux and Caen bye-passes with the 2nd battalion RCE August -Sept 1944..swiftly then moving on to Louvenjoel near Leuven in Belgium October 1944 ...here they did some timber clearing and haulage for CE CANADIAN WORKS..war diary states in Brussels area and LA HULPE...Does anyone know what was being done in this area at this time?

    Just found out by reading the war diaries of CE CANADIAN WORKS from the link provided by Dryan67 on this forum that there was a saw mill at La Hulpe, providing piles for bridges, huts for the AA Brussels belt, roads etc..so a big thank you from me..love this site :)
