Hi everybody, Just found site and thought that i'd say hello.I didn't realise that so many people were interested in the regiment. My dad was part of the 53rd recon. and is still live and well (he'll be a sprightly 88 next month)living in Staffordshire. Sedge
Sedge, is there a chance if I email you some questions (not that taxing ones!) you could get some answers? Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll find us a generally welcoming bunch!
Welcome to the forum Sedge, it is nice for all of us with an interest in 53 recce to chat in one place!!! Would you mind asking your dad if he remembers Albert Fulcher he was a sqn medic?? We would all appreciate you adding any photos or memories your dad may wish to share. There are also a number of photo's in mine and trpr hughes profile that you may also wish to share with your dad.
Sedge, Hello and welcome to the forum. It would be most interesting to hear some Recce experiences of your father if he is willing to speak of them. There are quite a few of us with Recce connections on the forum. Regards Tom
Hello Sedge Have a look through the link below originally posted by Admin it explains how to upload photos etc. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/network-information/12816-how-insert-pictures-videos-into-your-posts.html
Due to a kick from Dave, and me pulling my finger out... I apprehensively provide my first chunk of 53 Recce page. 53rd Welsh - 53rd Recce Regiment Many thanks to members of this forum for your photographs, the information/stories will go in once I finish tearing Welsh Spearhead apart for facts/figures and other books. What stands out to me is its sense of humour, surprisingly good read! *Its subject to daily revision/addition as I work out how to tally it up better etc. So no full narrative yet...
A while ago I downloaded some records from TNA, they were missing person reports for the 53rd. I only was able to download ten pages for the money I paid here they are. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/album.php?albumid=256
