    WERE GIVEN IN 1949 BY
    LT. COL. A.T. PORRITT J.P. D.L. T.D.
    IN MEMORY OF HIS WIFE
    ANNIE L. PORRITT,
    WHO DIED 11TH JULY 1943
    AND OF THEIR SON
    CAPT. RICHARD W. PORRITT M.P.
    WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION
    AT SECLIN, 26TH MAY 1940

    THE PARTING IS BUT HERE,
    AND FOR A DAY.

    Thanks for the link Kyle- Reading at the bottom he was the first MP to die in WW2 according to the newspaper cutting.

    I was told, while visiting the church, that there are ongoing discussions about whether to remove some of the pews. A few have been removed in the past with some of the wood being turned into bookshelves in the church.
