Good evening Gentlemen (and Ladies if any read these lines),

I'm looking for the names of the RASC companies or units which belonged to the 51st (Highland) Infantry division during WWII. Would someone have this information or could tell me where I could find them please?

    Thanks a lot.
    Cheers.

That's a tough one as they are seldom listed with any particular division which invariably only lists the first line support of Artillery- Engineers -Signals - the RASC and Ordnance along with Medical etc are second and third line support and seldom get the credit for what is an important service to the fighting troops, and they are usually listed with Corps and Army troops. Try XXX corps troops also Canadian Army in NW Europe

    Cheers

    I'm confused now.
I got my info from the Div History by Salmond.

AbeBooks: Search Results - salmond and 51st highland

So I assumed the companies had been renumbered after N African campaign, Malcolm mentions 527 in 1940 so I looked in Saul David's Churchill's Sacrifice of the Highland Division and the RASC companis are listed in that like this...

    525th (Ammunition) Company
    526th (Petrol) Company
    527th (Supply) Company.

That's also the way I've understood it. Precious details and info indeed.
