Hi - Could anyone give me the dates that the 50th Infantry Division was attached to the 8th Army, the 2nd Army, the 15th Army Group and the 21st Army Group. Additionally is there an online source which would let me know which Corps this division was encompassed by.
    Thanks in advance.

Got a bit of further info and it looks like the 50th were never part of the 2nd Army or the 15th Army Group - is this correct or am I getting confused again.

Thanks hugely. Have to admit that Kyt gave me that link by PM a while back, but thanks anyway. Something I don't understand from that table though for example all the dates it lists as being under a Corps control wouldn't the Division also have been under an Army Control and an Army Group/GHQ.

Also my Copy of Delaforce arrived this morning - yayyyyyy.

The table reflects the chain of Command and shows the next level above the Division and to which it reported. Where no Corps is shown, this is because the Division was directly controlled by a higher formation at that time.

Dave, we can't do it all for you.
If you want to know what Army each Corps came under at a certain time, I'm afraid you'll have to look it up.
    Have fun.

PS. Glad the book arrived OK, was it Royal Mail's superb service again?

    :)

Thanks guys, think you slightly misunderstood Owen. I was just after a little clarification on the hierarchy which Rich provided perfectly. Delaforce seems to be clarifying it a bit but it's going to take several reads and many notes before I get what I'm after. Thanks again.
