Anyone know anything about this unit?. My stepfather John Hoggarth was posted to it in Nov 1944 and back out again in April 1945. He served in India from 1943 - 1945. Can find no records of it's existence. Sometimes referred to as 50 Mobile Reserve Field Regiment. May have been part of the Indian Army?
    Any help appreciated.

Looked through Farndale's book on the Artillery in the Far East Theatre and no mention of it (or anything numbered 50). there is a 10th Indian (Reserve) Field Regiment which was a training Regiment in India raised in 1943 so it could be another similar formation. Where does the information come from?

Info came from war diaries of the previous and subsequent regiments and from his service records.

    Hi Jerry

Then it seems likely the info you are after could he held in Indian files - perhaps an email to:
Official Website of Indian Army - select contacts at base of page and you arrive at the contact details.
