So after nearly finishing my research into my Grandfather's service with 112th Wessex RA (still awaiting his service records) I am turning my attention to his cousin who served in the 5 DCLI. After some basic searches I found the below, I was wondering if anyone had more information on casualty lists. He couldn't have been wounded badly as he was mentioned in dispatches (what I assume to be) around the 5th August on a assault at a Village near Bremoy. First Name: Frederick James Surname: Chipman Fate: Wounded Incident Details: Reported to War Office Casualty Branch for the 24 hours ending at 09:00. Incident Date: 26/07/1944 Information: Casualty List No. 1508. Rank: Private Service Number: 5441943 Duty Location: North West Europe Service: British Army Regiment: Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry Battalion: 5th Battalion Archive Reference: WO417/78
