48 Division Signals 1940 Peter Fleming 2320000

  1. Hi Steve
    I have just reviewed the papers from Historical Disclosures, I have not received B103, I think first of all to shed any light on my uncles service, I need to request all documentation in relation to his service records. After closer inspection of the copies sent it does appear hastily done.

  3. Please find letters I have found written by his brother Desmond Fleming,1994,97,stating his service, also picture of the medals of Peter Fleming.

    Sorry to say this is getting a bit boys own and you need to get his full service records to prove or disprove the family folklore

    To be honest they are articles written by a journalist who has apparently read some letters sent by his relative 50+ years after the events, the only truthful details will come from his full service records as expressed several times on this thread. What you are posting is not his official records, just opinions of what someone recalls happening

    We have had several threads like this on the forum where a relative was here there and everywhere, but when the official MOD records are uploaded he was found not to have left the UK shores and the medals he was apparently awarded had been purchased second hand

    So please obtain his full MOD service records and upload them

  6. Thanks for the advise, I will contact the records office and endeavour to obtain official complete records, sorry if I have posted unofficial accounts.

    We dont know yet if what you have posted is the same as the official records or not, until then what you have posted are remembered accounts by relatives as to what they believe happened or where told what happened - they could both match but until that comparison happens .......................

    Chris no apology required we are just trying to advise you to make sure you get his official records and not rely on family memory, newspaper articles etc that could be incorrect or lead you up the garden path.
