Hi Does anyone know anything about the operations, journey etc of 45 Indian Beach Group? They were one of five Indian Beach Groups but they were deployed in a Forward Airfield Maintenance role in the advance through Burma. A Google search has produced a couple of mentions, including this link to an article in the RE Journal on p289: 1947-December.pdf (nzsappers.org.nz) There are a number of War Diaries for them at Kew and a paper on their role in Forward Airfield Maintenance in WO203/881. I will try to look at these on a future visit. Does anyone know any more about this already? Thanks

Like the photos of the memorial High Wood. Do you think it still exists today? Any more info about it?
I have no other information about it and I have not been able to identify the location. It came with half a dozen other photographs of Penang and various parts of Malaya.
It's actually 46 Indian Beach Group. It still exists at Morib but has probably been relocated. Segran Gana - Ceremony To Commemorate Landing Of 46...
Comparing the "5" in 45th with the "5" in 1945, I think that you are right. I will correct the caption in my post.
