Is there someone that perhaps could help me out with this one ? (THE BRITISH ARMY IN NORTH-WEST EUROPE 1944-1945).
I would like to know the location where these mortars where on 01/10/1944. I know Turnhout, but I wouls like to know more specificly.
Someone has the war diary of the 2nd Kensington Regiment of that day or perhaps September / October?

    Regards
    Nick

Thx for the reply. I did but he said he did not have this info. He already helped me with other info about the 4th Battalion, The Lincolnshire Regiment, 49 (Polar Bears).
    Regards

    Nick,
From the War Diaries, I have translated the Grid References into Lat / Longs, then plugged those into Google maps.
This web site has the "translator" from the WW2 system into Lat / Long: The grids used on the European Theatre of Operations

Please let me know if you find out anything about a Pte John Henry WALKER (MG with 2nd Kensingtons), he's my late father-in-law.
    Pete
