My father CDL Fittall 553201, 2nd Row, 2nd from right.
If anyone can identify the other men on the photo, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Kay

Hi just wondering if you gave any photos of A squadron and a Sgt George J. Good? He was killed in 2nd November at El Alamein. He was my grandfather but we have no photos if him as my grandmothers effects were destroyed in a fire. Thank you. Dee

    Hi Dee,
Sorry I don't have any photos of your Grandfather. As his serial number 553206 is very close to my Father's number 553201, they may have done their basic training together. Both were sergeants.
There is a mention of Corporal Wood on page 64 of Pippins Progress who was later killed at Alamein as a sergeant driver.
    Best regards, Kay

Hi Kay and many thanks for your reply. I was lucky enough to go to a reunion in 2007 and meet some of the old guys including Major Heseltine who sent me a copy of his book. There is a photo in it which he thought included my Grandfather (who is also mentioned in the book) but couldn’t be 100% sure and sadly the other chap in the photo had just passed away. Ah well, the search continues! Did your Father have any passing out photos when he finished his training?
