I have been looking at the ORB for 358 Squadron, a special duties squadron formed in India in late 1944. Based on what I have, I can see many missions flown in Burma, French Indochina and as far afield as Malaya. The ORB has a decent amount of detail regarding missions flown by each crew, but as with any ORB there is no context for what they were doing. I was wondering if any user has any experience in cross-referencing ORBs for special duty squadrons with specific SOE or OSS activities in SE Asia.
SOE in the Far East operated under the designation Force 136. Force 136 - Wikipedia You might also liked to look at the ORBs of 357 squadron (Liberators, Dakotas & Lysanders). Also 200/8 squadron with Liberators (same squadron number changed May 1945) & 160 Liberator squadron. All were flying special ops missions in 1945.
