Hi Micky, Bolden's parent unit was actually the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) and not the Camerons. Cheers Ian
Micky is this your Facebook page? Foto da 1945 Operation Tombola /Operazione Tombola: Impossibile is possible ! | Facebook I am curious about this pic if it is your page, caption mentions 2nd SAS but all are wearing Para berets and cap Badges the lack of jump wings is strange. 2nd SAS durante l'addestramento nei reparti paracadutisti (1943 circa)
Sory for the very long delay, the picture came from the Philip Williams's archive, there are some SAS during the chute training at Yeovilton (if i remember correctly), may be the red berets was borrowed from the local Para regiment!
I thought the SAS did their jump training at STS 51 with SOE at Altringham Jedburgh, i was at the Air Assault records office at Duxford this week, i was looking for someone who qualified at Kabrit in Egypt. There were lots of SAS, SRS who qualified in Kabrit. Incidentley lots of Jedburghs too. Steve
