    Hello,
does anyone have reports on the missions over Germany of the following units for 25 Februry 1945:
    Tempests of 33 Sqn
    Tempests of 56 Sqn
    Spitfires of 442 Sqn

The following units lost aircraft over Germany on that day - so I suppose they were active, too.
    Typhoons of 609 Sqn
    Tempests of 274 Sqn / 174 Sqn / 80 Sqn / 486 Sqn

I know that the 2nd T.A.F. Daily Log Sheets No. 2658 - 2659 covered activities on 26 March 1945 - so maybe someone has access to the preceeding numbers or could point me to an online source.

174 SQN RCAF lost one that day, but it was a Typhoon

Perhaps this RCAF Summary for the 25th will provide further information

Many thanks, ometei. This helps - to an extent.
My information regarding squadrons was based on the book "2nd Tactical Air Force, Vol. 3 From the Rhine to Victory" by Christopher Shores and Chris Thomas (2006). They apparently do not specify which sqdns were Canadian...

Oops, I almost forgot about MN178 of 609 Sqn, which crashed 4 km east of Weeze on February 25, 1945. Debris was discovered in 2017 during Gravel extraction, but it was then thrown straight into the scrap heap ...

I wasn't sure if you'd already seen these documents. They're available online from UK's The National Archives. They're the Squadron's Operations Record Book. There's usually two files per month to look for, a "Record of Events" and a "Summary of Events".

If you create a login, they're free to download but you are limited to 10 files/documents per day and 100 in a 30 day period.

My apologies if you already know this, and already have these documents. I had a lot of spare time this evening :)

    Regards.
    John.

    Hello John,
thank you - great information. I did not know this, although I visited the National Archives several times for research and have access via a login. I mainly researched Army documents, though. You`ve been a great help and I was lucky that you had all that spre time last night!
Have a good weekend, with best regards
    Alex
