Thanks "Airborne Medic"! Hadn't heard of the book Tunisian Tales but will see if I can find it. Appreciate your assistance, please let me know if you unearth anything else. Kind regards.
Regret not been able to find anything so far in my NA files.....no Dunbar on my list of those who went on the Bruneval raid from C Company so looks like he joined in 1942 after February......do you have his service records?
Many thanks once again. You are correct I remember him telling me that he joined after the Bruneval raid. I do have some information in the form of records but it just says POW camp 66 PM 3400 then moved POW camp unknown. Then "reached Southern Italy and is in Allied hands" 18/12/44. His army number was 6204836. Regards Bob.
Can't find his name in the POW book Nor me There is a Pte C D Dunbar, 405980, POW No. 118685 at Stalag 11B (Fallingbostel) and a Sgt W S Dunbar, 2572042, POW at Stalag Luft 3 (Sagan and Belaria)...........
Can't find his name in the POW book Philip/Paul If he escaped and evaded in Italy, reaching Allied lines in December 1944, he wouldn't be in the published POW book as that only contains those in captivity on 30th March 1945. John
Philip/Paul If he escaped and evaded in Italy, reaching Allied lines in December 1944, he wouldn't be in the published POW book as that only contains those in captivity on 30th March 1945. John That would explain it.............
Many thanks for all your efforts once again. Is there a list/document that is available showing prisoners at point of internment or should I give up on this one? Regards Bob.
Bob There is an Italian POW list at the National Archives. I'm afraid that I don't have a copy of this but there are some on this forum that appear to have a copy. I've also checked my list of post D Day escape and evasion reports but he does not appear in those records John

Hey all, I am currently researching my great grandfather Terry Toogood who served for the 2nd paras. I know he was in Arnhem and possibly Africa but not sure about Africa. He passed away April 2009 and was born in 1921 Isle of Wight. I have attached a photo of him before he went to war. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=191885294163178&set=a.180463791971995.46847.179480745403633&type=3&theater Any information would be great. Thanks Chris

Bringing this to the top, I wonder when Chris was last active? I have information about his grandfather. My great grandfather and his were I believe friends after the war through the parachute regiment association. Don
Click on his profile , it says, Sep 01 2012 05:16 PM. I can email him via the admin email account asking him to contact you if you like. Or contact him via Facebook he links to on his other post.
I don't have Facebook unfortunately, could you email him for me mate? My great grandad mentioned him a lot when he was alive and even talks about him on a family video of mine from the 90's. I think I even mentioned the name in an earlier post. Don
