2nd Batt Glasgow Highlanders

    Hi all

    I am researching the War Dead on a local church memorial and have found a casualty of the 2nd Batt Glasgow Highlanders on 31st August 1944 who is buried at Calvados in N France. Could anyone please advise what was going on around that time.

    HI

    Accorfding to FMP, Harry Butterworth (4204799) joined the Royal Welch Fusiliers on 01/07/1940.

    He was transferred into the Highland Light Infantry on 19/07/1944.
