    Hi Folks,
Does anyone know the identity of the people in the picture.
My grandfathers brother Sgt Herbert Upperton was a member of 295 Sqn. His Halifax was shot down on 14 Jun 43 by 2 FW Condors of KG 40 over the Bay of Biscay whilst towing a Horsa glider to North Africa in preparation for the invasion of Sicily. The picture attached was given to me by my mother recently, Herbert was only 5' 3'' however my mother has indicated that the bloke sitting extreme left is Herbert. Can anyone put names to the rest of this crew? On his record of service it says employer ZE 434/2 is this the aircraft number?

    Steve,
German wireless reports the shooting down of this aircraft, 100 miles N.W of Cape Finnisterre. I have the 295sqdn ORB for this period if it's any help to you. Have sent a message with details.
    Alan.
