    My friend was out in Berlin at that time as a young boy, he recalls the train they were on being stopped and all passengers being herded off by the Russians whilst they searched the train. He spent a long time in the cold before being allowed to get back on.
    His late father was an air traffic controller at the time.

    I read a book called Bridge Accross the Sky written by Basil Collier a few years ago which covers this period
