A bit late spotting this but I'm pretty sure this chap was captured at Boulogne around 25 May 1940. He was Bill Carroll and, after the war, he became the Guildhall Superintendent at Swansea, living in a flat on the roof! A council job, organising the public meeting rooms in the Guildhall, managing the Guildhall commissionaires (public meet and greeters), carrying a ceremonial mace at official functions etc. He must have retired in the early 1980s and died in the 1990s.
Thanks very much for the reply and info. Even without confirmation of battalion/date, odds are he probably was taken at Boulogne. The vast majority of WG POW names relate to that unfortunate action. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a Liberation Questionnaire for him.
Cheers Bernard! Your post prompted the thread being re-visited and updated. Very much appreciated. Kind regards, always, Jim.
